  • Statement of the Central Committee of the Communist Ghadar Party of India, 9th May, 2018

On 12th May, votes will be cast for the 224-member Legislative Assembly of Karnataka. There are hundreds of candidates contesting these elections, including those of communist parties and of many other organisations fighting in defence of people’s rights. The corporate news media, however, has been presenting these elections as a contest between the Congress Party, BJP and Janata Dal (Secular), as if only these three parties matter.

  • thumbnailMay 5 this year marked the 200th birth anniversary of Karl Marx, the founder of scientific socialism. On this occasion, a meeting was organized by the Communist Ghadar Party in New Delhi.

Karl Marx was the first to give socialism and the working class movement a scientific foundation. He and his comrade-in-arms, Frederick Engels, published in 1848 the Manifesto of the Communist Party, which has remained the most influential political document in the world since that time until today.

  • thumbnailThousands of workers militantly demonstrated in the streets and organised meetings in different parts of India and in different countries through-out the world. Workers shouted slogans and held banners reiterating their demands.

  • Peasants across the country have resolved to come together once again to protest against the callousness of the rulers to their growing impoverishment. Despite repeated protests by the peasantry since the last one year and more, the government has failed to guarantee the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of 1.5 times the cost. Dumping of their produce – milk, potatoes, tomatoes and other vegetables – by peasants on the roads because the price they can realize does not even cover their cost of production has become an increasing occurrence over the last few years.

  • Call of the Central Committee of the Communist Ghadar Party of India, 1st May 2018

On the occasion of May Day 2018, Communist Ghadar Party greets the working class and peoples of all countries who are waging a courageous struggle against the attacks of the capitalist class and its governments on their livelihood and rights. We greet all the nations and peoples who are opposing the criminal wars, economic blockades and enslaving treaties of the imperialists and monopoly capitalist corporations.

  • The recent incidents of rape and murder of a girl child in Kathua, Jammu, and the rape of a teenage girl in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, have been met with widespread public outrage. People have come out in large numbers in every corner of the country to demand immediate and severe punishment of those guilty of these crimes, irrespective of any high position they may hold.
  • Militant demonstration in Bhiwandi on women's safety issueThe bestial multiple rape and murder of 8-year old Asifa in Kathua, the rape and torture of the Unnao girl by the MLA, the untold miseries including rape suffered by the Surat girl before her murder – all these have shaken up the people of our country. The involvement of the police and MLA in these crimes, the shameless support given by ministers of the Jammu and Kashmir government to the perpetrators of the Kathua crime, the UP government’s role in trying to shield the MLA of its party as well as the prolonged silence of the PM before he reluctantly came out with a couple of sentences once again revealed the thoroughly anti-people nature of the state. People all over the country are raising their voice in protest. They realise that unless they unite and fight, these crimes will be pushed under the carpet and the criminals will go scot-free.

  • Statement of the Communist Ghadar Party of India, 14th April 2018

The US, UK and France launched missile attacks on Syria early morning on 14th April. This is a blatant attack on the sovereignty of Syria and a deliberate provocation against its government and people.

Communist Ghadar Party of India strongly condemns this criminal attack on Syria and its people by the imperialists. It calls on the working class and people of our country and all peace and justice loving forces to unite and oppose imperialist war against Syria.

  • Terad union Satyagarh Various sections of the working class in India and across the world have been out on the streets time and again over the past year in defence of their rights. In India, the bourgeoisie has unleashed an offensive on the rights of the workers in the interest of “ease of doing business” of the monopoly capitalists. The working class resistance culminated in several joint actions of workers through the year. Workers from across sectors of the economy expressed their opposition to the privatisation programme of the bourgeoisie.

  • Recently the Indian Railways announced that it would “re-engage” retired workers to fill the vacancies in for all categories of workers in the maintenance, operating and commercial departments. Towards this end it has already started “re-engaging” workers who retired at 60 years in these departments subject to a maximum age limit of 65 years. • Sterlite Copper plant Tens of thousands of people of Thoothukudi district in Tamilnadu have come out on the streets demanding the closure of the Sterlite Copper plant functioning in their region. People from all walks of life including fishermen, auto rickshaw unions, mini bus drivers, salt pan workers, tea stall vendors, small manufacturer's association, joined the agitation showing that there is widespread concern.

  • Imperialist lies and justification

I am writing to thank you for carrying the bold and principled Statement of the CGPI dated 14 April 2018 entitled 'Condemn the brutal missile attacks on Syria'. Indeed, as the statement says, all peace loving people of the worlds must unite to condemn the USA, the UK and France, the so-called `allies' in carrying out this barbaric act which is a flagrant violation of international law.

Working class representatives from all over the country are gathering on 4th September, at a time when a titanic struggle is going on in our country. The struggle is between the majority of toiling and exploited people and a minority of exploiters. It is between the majority whose labour expands wealth and the minority who enjoy the fruits of wealth creation on the basis of their private property and positions of power.
