Public meeting on the occasion of Martyr’s day

Hind Naujavan Sabha and Lokraj Sangathan jointly organized a meeting in the Okhla Industrial area of Delhi on March 23, on the occasion of Bhagat Singh’s martyrdom. The meeting was attended in large numbers by working class youth.

The meeting began with the lighting of the torch and raising slogans "Inquilab Zindabad" as a salute to the revolutionary spirit of the martyrs. and slogans of Inquilab Zindabad! Down with imperialism! Down with capitalism! Long live the martyrs, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru Sukhdev! Let us get organized, let us become the rulers and change society.

The meeting began with Shri. Ashok Kumar Gupta, President of the Lokraj Samiti briefly narrating the history of the lives of the martyrs.

Dharmendar Kumar, talking on behalf of Hind Naujavan Sabha, pointed out that the martyrs’ work and goal remained as relevant today, 81 years later, as it was then. We are confident that the youth who are working to fulfill the dreams of the martyrs will be victorious.

Addressing the meeting on behalf of Lok Raj Sangathan, Bijju Nayak pointed out that it is important to understand what the difference is between conditions in 1931, eight decades ago when Bhagat Singh and his comrades sacrificed their lives, and now. Even today, the same laws are contained in our Constitution, which the colonialists had established in their own interest. In the Police, army, judiciary, administration, etc., it is only the face that has changed, the English face being replaced by the Indian. Previously, the Englishman controlled the state and looted the workers and peasants, now Tata, Birla, Ambani and other capitalists have replaced them. Workers and peasants hate this Constitution that is a reminder of colonial rule. Difference is only in time, not in the conditions of the people.

The bourgeoisie calls the right to change the government once in five years through voting as democracy. The people have no control over such a government, made in this old and useless democracy. People’s thirst for justice, their want for livelihood, their aspiration to wipe out the poverty and corruption, are all trampled upon in the mud. People get further pushed into poverty and insecurity with each passing year. Whichever government is elected, it continues with the same policies of the previous government and carries on with serving the bourgeoisie. The growing disparity between the rich and poor is stark evidence of this. People must come forward to establish a system of justice, peace and accountability. We have to take political power in our hands. This is the only alternative.

Addressing the meeting on behalf of the Communist Ghadar Party of India, Santosh Kumar of the Area Committee said that the right manner of saluting the memory of our martyrs is for our youth to come forward to fulfilling their dreams. Let us intensify our struggle to establish the rule of the working class. Let us join in the efforts to organize workers and peasants to overthrow this man-eating exploitative capitalist system.

Many youth came forward to express their views at the meeting.

The meeting concluded in an enthusiastic and lively mood, with slogans and vows to fulfill the dreams of our martyrs through establishing the rule of the working class.

Manifesto 2014Unite around the program to reconstitute the Indian Republic and reorient the economy to ensure prosperity and protection for all!

There is growing realisation among workers, peasants and other self-employed people that the program of liberalisation and privatisation only serves to enrich an exploiting minority at their expense. Mass resistance is growing to this anti-worker, anti-peasant and anti-national program.
