Under the banner of Karza Mukti Andolan Sangharsh Samiti, farmers from across Rajasthan took out demonstration on July 17 and started a Traffic Jam Campaign. 39 farmers’ associations of Rajasthan are involved in this Sangharsh Samiti. As a result of the protest, on 22nd July the government invited the representatives of all 39 organizations from the Sangharsh Samiti, to discuss the problems being faced by the farmers.
Under the banner of Karza Mukti Andolan Sangharsh Samiti, farmers from across Rajasthan took out demonstration on July 17 and started a Traffic Jam Campaign. 39 farmers’ associations of Rajasthan are involved in this Sangharsh Samiti. The Traffic Jam Campaign started at 8 AM in the morning and went on till noon.
As a result of the protest, on 22nd July the government invited the representatives of all 39 organizations from the Sangharsh Samiti, to discuss the problems being faced by the farmers.

Traffic was brought to halt in 8 location in Nohar sub Tehsil of Hanumangarh district as part of the protest.
The Kisan-Mazdoor-Vyapaari Sangarsh Samiti (farmer-worker-trader struggle committee), along with many other organizations provided the leadership to this struggle. Main routes leading from Nohar to other parts of Rajasthan were blocked. Thousands of farmers from the area participated in this protest. Along with Hanuman Prasad Sharma, Vice President of Lok Raj Sangathan, Maniram Lakesar, Kuldip Bhambhu, Om Prakash Sahu, Vinod Swami, Dharampaal Khati, Chetram Lakesar and others participated in the protest.
On this occasion the Kisan-Mazdoor-Vyapaari Sangarsh Samiti raised the following demands as part of the memorandum submitted to the government:
- According to the recommendations of the Swaminathan Farmers Commission, farmers should be given 50 percent profits on their crops.
- Government of India should set up a fund worth one lakh crore rupees for Price-stabilisation
- Progressive land reforms should be implemented.
- To reduce input costs in the agricultural sector, important inputs like fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, etc. should be excluded from the GST.
- Agricultural debts of farmers in all nationalized cooperative banks and other major lending agencies should be waived Off.
- Land Acquisition Bill 2014 brought in by the Modi Government for the amendment of the Land Acquisition Act 2013 should be taken back.
- Central and state governments should introduce a farmer pension, in which every man/woman who is a farmer, farm laborer or rural artisan, should be given monthly pension of Rs. 10,000 after the age of 60 years.
- Grants should be provided to the farmers to protect their crops from stray animals.
- In order to irrigate the un-irrigated land, these areas should be declared as irrigable as per the demands of the ongoing movements.
Along with the demands listed above, they also raised local demands in the memorandum. It was also demanded that adequate water should provided in the canals as per the agreement dated April 29, 2017 and the proper storage system should be set up to as per the measurements done for the distribution of water.
Apart from this they put forward the demand that the theft of water from the canals be stopped, so that the farmers have adequate water to irrigate their land.
