Protest of Rajasthan state government employees

State government employees organisations, under the banner of the Akhil Rajasthan Karamchari Samyukt Mahasangh, organised protest meetings all across the state on 27th February at the offices of the district authorities.

The workers vowed to continue their fight for the implementation of the Old Pension Scheme, full benefits of the 7th Pay Commission and implementation of other demands. They demanded that the government fulfils the promises made during the elections. The workers presented their 7-point demands to the district authorities at the conclusion of their protest.

In this context, the state government employees of several blocks participated in large numbers at the protest in front of the district authority office in Hanumangadh. Several union office-bearers addressed this protest.

At the Press Conference on
27th February, veteran member of the Akhil Rajasthan Karamchari Samyukt Mahasangh and Vice-president of the All-India Council of Lok Raj Sangathan said that reality is clouded by a lot of myths. The fact is that value of money is falling continuously. When we started working, the monthly salary was Rs.600/, and those days we used be able to get by in that salary. However, today it is difficult for a worker to realise his needs even with a salary of Rs.50,000, given the declining value of the rupee. Whereas people feel that government employees are being paid high salaries!

He declared that employees in all the departments will be contacted and the protest campaign would be intensified. The protests would be intensified in a very big way to keep the pressure on the government. Ex district president of the Sangh – Patram Bhambu, veteran vice-president of the Rajasthan Patwar Sangh District Branch – Virendra Parikh and others also addressed the Press Conference.

Several office-bearers of the organisation were present at the protest and addressed the workers. Amar Singh Saharan – State President of the Krishi Paryavekshak Sangh, Virendra Parikh – vice-President of the Rajasthan Patwar Sangh District Branch, Chandrabhan Jyani – District President of Samyukt Karmachari Sangh, Subhash Jagidh – District President of N.M.O.P.S and Block President of Patwar Sangh, Pawan Parikh – District President of Mantralaya Karamchari Sangh, Sajanram Veniwal – District President Nal Mazdoor Sangh, Ram Lubaya Thinna of Shikshak Sangh Pragatisheel, Manoharlal Bansal of Shikshak Sangh Shekawat. Besides the above, Lalchand Jorad, Deendayal Sharma, Narendra Saharan, Karanveer Bhadu, Suresh Chayal, Deepak Gupta, Vishnu Bishnoi, Gurvindra Raman, Yogesh and others were present.

Principal demands are:

Stop the cut back in departmental posts

Fill vacant position, and to make permanent all workers in temporary, casual, honorary and contractual positions

To revise the pay scales and promptly implement the new pay scales awarded by the 7th Pay Commission for all public sector undertakings.

To apply the Old Pension Scheme instead of the New Pension Scheme to all workers appointed after 2004

To give workers who have completed 7, 14, 21, 28, 32 years, all the benefits accruing to them

To eliminate all anamolies for subordinate, ministerial support staff and teachers in implementing the schemes announced for the welfare of the employees

To immediately stop the cessation of benefits that are applicable to employees

To resume all benefits along with dearness allowance that have been stopped
